She won the beauty pageant at the age of 14 held in Hawaii. After this, in London, she commenced her professional modeling. She was noticed by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad at one of her fashion shows and further he cast her in his film Boom in 2003. But the film met a disastrous end at the box office.
It was reported that the film was flopped due to her bad command in Hindi. Furthermore, she worked very hard to learn Hindi. After learning Hindi she featured in several Hindi films including mastery London (2007), Welcome (2007), Singh Is Kinng (2008), Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011).
Despite Bollywood films, she marked her appearance in Telugu and Malayalam films like Malliswari in 2004, Allari Pidugu in 2005, and Balram vs. Tharadas in 2006. After a string of films in which she was cast to add glamour she now remarked that she was tired of “arm candy” roles and was looking for more substantial roles.
Later to this, she appeared in Prakash Jha’s political thriller Raajneeti, the slapstick comedy Tees Maar Khan, coming-of-age dramedy Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Kabir Khan’s espionage thriller Ek Tha Tiger, action thriller Dhoom 3, Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang! (2014), Anurag Basu’s comedy-adventure film Jagga Jasoos, period action-adventure film Thugs of Hindostan. In 2019 she once again collaborated with Salman in the movie Bharat.
