As of his career, he made his debut with the Teja-directed Oka V Chitram in 2006. In 2007, he appeared in the Tamil film Mirugam. Later, he acted in the film supernatural thriller Eeram in 2009. He had two releases, Ayyanar and Aadu Pul in 2010 which builds his commercial value well despite the negative reviews.
After that, he played negative roles in the films like Sarrainodu, for which he got critical acclaim, and the high-budget film, Kochadaiyaan. Later, he acted in the thriller Maragadha Naanayam in 2017 which proved to be a surprise box office success.
